Sixth Form Virtual Open Event
Hello! Thank you for coming along to our Sixth Form Virtual Open Event - we know nothing can really replace being able to visit our sixth form centre and discuss courses and student life face to face with our staff, but we hope that the videos and information we are sharing with you on this webpage will give you a great insight into the OLCC sixth form and all we have to offer.
Below we have three videos - the first is 'Life in the Sixth Form' with an introduction from Mrs Seddon our headteacher. This is followed by a PowerPoint video - Why Study at OLCC? - which Mrs Lowe (our Head of Sixth Form) has created for you, this contains lots of useful information about the pathways available and the opportunities on offer. Last but not least is a student made video which will give you a whistle-stop tour of lessons!
Following the videos you can read about all the subjects we have to offer in more depth - each department has put together a detailed subject overview which we think all prospective students will find really useful. There is even more subject information available in our course directory which can be found attached to the end of this webpage, this booklet also contains entry requirements for each course.
Ready to apply? You can do so using our online application form which is also available on our website in the sixth form section, or you can just copy and paste this link into your web browser - https://www.olcc.lancs.sch.uk/form/?pid=9&form=17
The deadline for applications is Friday 5th February. We will accept applications after this time but it is really helpful if you do apply by this date as we use the application information to create our 'option blocks' which determine which subjects will run at the same time. We want everyone to be able to study their chosen subjects wherever possible so the more applications we have by this date the better.
As always Mrs Lowe is available to answer any questions you might have - please send your queries to firstname.lastname@example.org
