Designing the Future
A group of pupils from Years 8 and 9 recently competed in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Challenge Day held at Cardinal Newman College in Preston.
Pupils were divided up into groups of four with two pupils from one school and two pupils from another. The event incorporated activities to help generate more interest in science and technology. These activities included robotics, vehicle building, E-FIT (using police facial recognition software) and construction. The emphasis throughout the day was on teamwork and overcoming difficulties through co-operation and collaboration.
