Secondary School of the Year Award

Our Lady's Catholic College wins prestigious local award!

Wednesday 25th November was a busy night for Our Lady's - whilst a number of students and staff were participating in or supporting the BTEC Dance Showcase, Mrs Seddon, Mr Coyle and a group of their colleagues attended the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor Education Awards . Their presence was predominantly to support Lydia Kitchen, Year 12, who was up for the Young Sciencist of the Year Award but they were also pleased that the school had been shortlisted  in the best school category.

The group were thrilled when Lydia was the much deserved winner of the Young Scientist Award, as a 11 A* GCSE student she definitely earned an accolade! Further elation was to follow when the school was named the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor Secondary School of the Year!! This was in recognition of the schools focus on community and care whilst also supporting students to stretch and develop their learning.

Mrs Seddon was extremely proud to accept the award on behalf of all the wonderful students and the hard working dedicated staff that make the school such a fantastic place to be.
