BTEC Dance Show Fundraising
Back in December the Year 11 BTEC dance group held a charity showcase called 'Saints and Sinners' as part of their BTEC assessment. They organised the entire event themselves, from tickets to tutus, and all proceeds were raised for the charity SENSE, a voluntary organisastion working with and supporting people of all ages who are deafblind or have associated disabilities.
David Steele the Senior Community Fundraising Manager for SENSE came into school on Tuesday 1st March to pick up the donation. David is based in Sheffield and travels around the country delivering workshops and information and guidance about deafblind adults and children. David was pleased to be able to come to school to personally collect the funds raised and meet the girls, and he was even more thrilled to be handed a cheque for an amazing £525!
A huge congratulations to the group for their hard work, organising your own event is a big responsiblity and you excelled at the task. Raising such a fantastic amount to help this worthwhile charity is something you should be very proud of yourselves for, Our Lady's Catholic College is certainly proud to have you as our students!
