Lessons will focus upon developing individual instrument skills and your ability to perform in a group, there will be several opportunities to perform in front of an audience. You will learn to compose music using a digital audio workstation and develop an understanding of key musical styles. BTEC Music has three components: As well as performing and creating your own music, you will learn about different genres of music from popular music and world music, to music for film and classical. You will gain an understanding of how musical styles have developed and how technology has influenced how music is created, performed and heard. You will apply the knowledge and skills you have gained to producing a music product, focussing on composing, performing or producing your own music. Future Careers This course provides a good first step towards a career in the music industry, whether you are interested in performing, composing or producing music. There are also a number of skills associated with music that will interest future employers such as resilience, determination and teamwork.
