Course Title BTEC Music Practice Examination Board Edexcel Specification/Code RMP3 Studying music is a practical subject which helps you improve your ability to perform, compose and understand music. Lessons will focus upon developing individual instrument skills and your ability to perform in a group, there will be several opportunities to perform in front of an audience. You will learn to compose music using a digital audio workstation and develop an understanding of key musical styles. BTEC Music has three components:  As well as performing and creating your own music, you will learn about different genres of music from popular music and world music, to music for film and classical.  You will gain an understanding of how musical styles have developed and how technology has influenced how music is created, performed and heard.  You will apply the knowledge and skills you have gained to producing a music product, focussing on composing, performing or producing your own music. Future Careers This course provides a good first step towards a career in the music industry, whether you are interested in performing, composing or producing music. There are also a number of skills associated with music that will interest future employers such as resilience, determination and teamwork.
